ABOUT
Hello! My name is Mitch Anderson and thanks for taking the time to check out my website. I always find it helps me to take better photographs if I build relationships with my clients. That being said I haven’t met you yet but here is some information about me. I currently live in Riverside, CA with my wife and our son. I have been a professional photographer for over 10 years now, but my interest in photography started a long time ago.
As early as I can remember I was always playing with the family camcorder. My mother was diligent about photographing every event and milestone in our lives. She would send us on school field trips or summer camps with disposable cameras and we would gets prints made for her scrap books. Throughout my adolescence and teens I became an avid skateboarder and shifted my focus to video production. I attended Art Center College of Design. I enter the filmmaking program on the cinematography track, which is eventually what my degree would be in. While studying cinematography I had to take many photography courses because the principles directly apply to motion picture. At this point in my life I had only a few weddings under my belt but the more I learned in school the more I could be creative and confident as a professional photographer.
After graduation I split my time as a wedding photographer in the Inland Empire and a filmmaker in Los Angeles. BUT…..That became difficult to balance while trying to actively participate in my sons life. I made the only choice that felt right which was to dedicate my time to my son and really push to become a local full-time photographer. I still work occasionally in LA for small production companies but for the most part I work from home now.
I have a deep passion for storytelling and one day I will achieve my dream of being a Director of Photography. But for now, I am having a blast raising my son. I am super lucky to have photography as an outlet for my creativity while using it support my family.
